Taxes definitely are constitutional since they are specifically outlined in Article 1, Section 7. Tax on personal income is directed by Amendment XVI -

"The Congress shall have power to lay and collect taxes on incomes, from whatever source derived, without apportionment among the several states, and without regard to any census or enumeration. "

Some may feel income taxes are unfair, but this is where the U.S. gets the bulk of its funds to operate.

Just saw your question.

The Federal Reserve is the nation's central banking system. It controls things like interest rates on loans, dollar value on the international market, and in general supervises commercial banks and there operations. It holds the deposits of the U.S. Treasury. There are 12 Federal Reserve banking districts around the country.

The U.S. Treasury is made up of various accounts which hold the actual wealth of the U.S. Government.

The Internal Revenue Service is the bureau which collects income taxes from individuals, corporations and other entities, as dictated by the legislature. Those funds are deposited into the appropriate U.S. Treasury accounts (general fund, social security reserves, etc.) at the Federal Reserve Banks.

Could you explain the difference between the IRS, treasury and the Federal Reserve? I really would like to know.

Whether income taxes are paid or unpaid wasn't the focus of that comment. At least I thought I it didn't read that way. The point is that income tax is a tax being put on us by the Federal Reserve because, from what I understand and I am still learning, they are making us pay interest as a nation for every new dollar they print. The overall argument that I have heard time and time again is that income tax could very well be considered an "unfair" or even "unconstitutional" tax. I pay City Tax and State Tax and I THINK I understand the fairness of the tax. But income tax I am not so sure.

Any thoughts?

"How does the Federal Reserve get away with garnishing income taxes"
Hi there. I agree in part with what you are saying, but I've never heard about the Federal Reserve garnishing anyone for back taxes. That is not their purpose. The IRS can garnish wages for unpaid taxes.

Yeah - agreed - but more it seems like a bizzarre disconnect.

Bernanke - look at the guy - listen to him speak - and study his past job performance.

Feel free to edit this - but is he not the Avatar for Schyster Dweeb? He's got shifty side-eye when he's not blinking rapidly and words come out of his mouth. Sure. But they make no real practical sense and sound suspiciously like pre-strike apologia??? Maybe we should all follow the TeaBaggers but not with the senelessness and begin to simply picket...

Just to ask the questions the media won't.
