I have only had 1 in my life also, thought it was a waste of money. Used it for like 4 or 5 months, paid it off and cut if off.

I got rid of my first and last credit card in my first year of college :) I didn't have as much of an understanding of our debt based economy as I do today but even then I didn't like being in debt for buying necessities like a bus pass or groceries. God bless roommates.

Or raise your interest rates when you go to use it. Thankfully I don't have any credit cards, but just watched a special regarding a bunch of people that had their rates raised to levels that may force them into bankruptcy. I think our credit laws suck royal donkey dick. Your damned if you do and damned if you don't when it comes to the credit scoring.

Unless you want to really close them out, don't pay off any credit cards at the end of the month. Leave a small balance, even a few dollars. If you pay down to $0.00, the bank may take the opportunity to close it out from under you.
