America’s Christian Greed

For a nation that describes itself as Christian we sure are dedicated to our love of money. What is that verse again? The love of money is the root of all evil. Hmmmm…

Who will destroy the freedom of religion?

The United States Constitution, you have to love it.  Not only does it guarantee us our freedoms we enjoy and that many good citizens have died for to protect, but it also is there to protect us from our own self-righteousness.

I have heard many times before that the atheists, agnostics, and the Muslims are taking away the right to practice our religions.  You see and hear this on TV, certain websites, and many, many blogs.

Is it really true it’s those non-believers that are fighting hard to take this right away, or is it the religious themselves the ones destroying this right guaranteed by the constitution?

The reason why I bring this up is because of the fear and propaganda I am hearing about the current president of this great nation.  I have heard time and time again that he is a Muslim and he is out to destroy us.

When we accuse this man of being a Muslim, are we not taking away his freedom of religion?  Are we not demonizing someone else’s belief and telling the world his belief should not be allowed or accepted?  Are we not telling people that we should not have the right choose which religion, if any, is ours to choose?

Whether or not this man is a Muslim, I think those that are making him out to be this evil Muslim, are destroying not just his freedom of religion, but every other American in this country.

So the next time you want to disrespect the belief of another man, think twice and give us a good reason why your beliefs should be respected in return.

Provoking thought of who and what God is

DSCF0555

Ever since I can remember, I have always been told I have a soul and my main purpose for living was to worship and serve the almighty God. I was also told that we are all sinners and we must strive to be perfect and follow the rules laid out by God.

Every person on this earth has had to rely on their parents, teachers, and mentors to understand who and what God is, and what he expects of us. We are taught from an early age to follow our parents’ religion. Even though each religion has its faults, each one is based on a certain set of principles and those basic principles are supposed be the only answers we need to serve this God.

But who is this God? Why does he not come to his beloved people more often and lead them? Where is he when we are diseased, starving, and in war torn lands? Where is he when our leaders turn evil and enslave us? These are just some of the questions people ask every day, and for good reason. Who is God? Where is he when we need him? Why is God silent?

Maybe God is not whom we were brought up to believe God is.

What if our souls were just an energy source that will continue on even after our physical death? What if our souls are a part of God and we have been given the chance to live life for God through our own eyes and actions? What if God gave us the 10 simple laws because in fact, we are not going against man, but going against God himself? You do not kill your fellow man; you in fact kill a part of God. You do not steal from the rich; you in fact steal what God has done through that person. You do not hate those that are different then you; you in fact hate God himself.

We are also told about the 7 deadly sins. They are “Lust”, “Gluttony”, “Greed”, “Sloth”, “Wrath”, “Envy”, and “Pride”. What if these sins were pointed out because if we are just a small part of who God is, maybe he doesn’t want to be known for any of these actions?

Maybe God has sent many prophets to us with a combined knowledge from those who have already lived so we could strive to be better? What if we have over complicated what God expected of us and forgot why were are truly here?

I do believe in the end, you will face reality and that reality is nothing like you thought. I feel that we are given a gift of life, and when we fight our fellow man because we don’t like his sexual orientation, his color, or feel that since that fellow man is female is somehow below us, we will know in the end it was all for nothing and we will then know we wasted our lives with pettiness and hate. To me, that is hell, going through eternity knowing you wasted a precious gift on the wrong ideas and mindset.
