We all know the greatest story ever told, you know the story where the Son of God is born, teaches mankind a new mindset, and then is taken by the Romans and nailed to the cross. He dies, then 3 days later, rises from the dead and ascends into heaven. Every Christian has been waiting for over 2000 years for Lord Jesus Christ’ return so he may rapture all those faithful and born again into heaven to be with his heavenly father for eternity. Obviously this was not enough for 20-year-old Brittany Cantarella, nor was she ready to be raptured up into heaven. As she drove her 2005 Chevy Monte Carlo, Brittany spotted the Lord Jesus Christ walking across the street in the crosswalk. In a modern day turn of events, Brittany seized the moment and nailed the Lord Jesus Christ to the CROSSwalk. Lord Jesus Christ was heard yelling “Me” as he tumbled down the pavement. Fortunately for Lord Jesus Christ he was not killed a second time around, nor did it take him 3 days to rise again. Thankfully with modern day technology, Lord Jesus Christ was taken to a local hospital and treated for minor facial injuries and then later released. As [...]

Their wallets were hung by the chimney with care; In hopes that rich lobbyists would soon be there! The children were all dying in their hospital beds, While visions of transplant denials danced in their heads. And mamma with her tissue, and I taking off my cap, Was watching poor Timmy drift into his eternal nap. When out in the lobby, there arose such a clatter, I sprang from the hospital room to see what was the matter. To the nurses station I flew like a flash I asked the head nurse, “What the hell was that?” With the smell of fresh printed money Gave the luster of bailouts from the taxpayer loot When, what to my wondering eyes should appear, But a little caravan, of eight golden parachutes. With a fat leader, so greedy and quick, I knew in a moment it must be St

I just don’t get it with many Americans and these so called “conservatives” when it comes to the health care problems many people are having in this country. First off, many of the naysayers who are against the current health care reform probably have never been sick, nor have they ever been bankrupted due to a serious medical catastrophe. These same people have no idea how inadequate their health insurance really is and will be in for some shock when they go to use the plan, how quickly they can be denied services or cancelled outright. I also love how these same people try to blame the person who is sick that is somehow their fault, whether it is the way the eat, maybe their problems stem from drug use, or just the fact that the person was to lazy to get an education and get out and get a good job. How ironic they use the same excuses when they in fact have no clue what the persons education level is, how hard they may have worked, how much they have put into the bank to retire on, etc, etc, etc. As a 3 time [...]

It looks as though the economy is getting much better these days. I am seeing more and more people going back to work, and far less foreclosures in my area than I did a year ago. I have seen multitudes of manufacturing businesses reopen, and many jobs return. America has been producing now for well over a year and our trade deficit is next to nothing. All those bailouts the banks received helped thousands upon thousands get their mortgages modified and these same people are now back on their feet, rebuilding their credit, and paying their debts down. What was more amazing is all the small mom and pop stores are competing very well with our behemoth stores like Wal-Mart. I mean come on, have you tried to drive their parking lot lately? I am so surprised no one has been mugged or kidnapped from that place. I did hear once that someone was trampled at one of their stores on black Friday, but I am sure that is just urban legend. I mean come on now; we are in a civilized country! I guess the republicans were right after all. Once the socialist party once known as the democrats [...]

Definitions Life: the quality that distinguishes a vital and functional being from a dead body Liberty: the power to do as one pleases; freedom from arbitrary or despotic control Happiness: a pleasurable or satisfying experience The Declaration of Independence was written to explain why the colonists had the right to revolt against England and seek its independence. The colonists had no representation and their voices were not heard in their government. Many believe that health care should not be a right, but a privilege or a luxury, I think much differently. If you look at the standard definition above, it states that life is a vital and functional being. Without proper health care for many, they would in turn be dead! Simple isn’t it? Well maybe for some, but for others they need a little more clarification. Here are 2 more definitions on why health care is not a privilege. Vital: critical; urgently needed; absolutely necessary Functional: fit or ready for use or service Now many state that if health insurance was a right it would have been written into the constitution. I beg to differ. Health insurance was first created in the 1920’s at a hospital in Dallas [...]

I just need to ask every one of you fighting against health care reform. Why do you have all the answers now? Where were you fighting for all these so called wonderful ideas to give your fellow American a level playing field a year ago? Two years ago? Three years ago? Wait, I know where you were, you were sitting there telling those that were trying to tell the country something is wrong that we were the fools to mess with the free market and that it will eventually work its self out. We were ignored, we were shunned, and we were called lazy. So why should I listen to you now? Why is it you feel you are entitled to tell us how we should be treated any more? So now that Obama was voted in, and with many Americans screaming for health care reform, I just need to know – WHY NOW?

Yes, they are coming to take away your guns, so they say. Don’t know who really is saying it, but everyone keeps repeating it. Makes you wonder though, why do they want to take away your second amendment “The right to bear arms”. Never know though, some small Indian tribe might come up and endanger your family. Heaven forbid that local militia calls you to arms when the British are coming. You must defend yourself from them too! I will be damned if I am going to give up my 2nd amendment right to bear arms so I can just shoot people when they trespass on my property, or heaven forbid state that health care is not a right! Wait, health care is not a right? I would think that the richest industrialized nation would consider basic needs like health care would be a right, and not a luxury, but I guess holding a weapon that could kill someone is. So I must ask. Where are our priorities?

We all see the commercials day in and day out. We are bombarded by these commercials on how to get rich quick because you can sue. Yes, it is quite pathetic that we as a society have become so greedy that we must have more and more, even if we really do not deserve it. Yes I do feel that we need to reform our current system because mankind just can’t be trusted. But have you thought about the dark side to this? Do we not already have a judicial system in place – the people? Sure there are greedy trial lawyers, crooked defense attorneys, but in a trial, is there not a jury of the people? How much are you willing to give up to further the profits of corporations who probably have none of your interests at hand? Now I am not saying all these court cases have been fair, but how many of these court cases were fair and very necessary to protect the victim? Are you also rallying to cap the amount of money an industry can sue you for? Look at some of the outrageous settlements that have been awarded to record industry alone for [...]
